Since the Rwandan genocide, weavers from both ethnic groups have come together despite the horrors they experienced to create these ‘Peace Baskets’ based on the traditional Rwandan craft of agaseke. Made by sewing sisal fibre around a papyrus frame they were traditionally used to store jewellery and food. They would also be given to the groom by a bride’s family. An interesting gift, decoration or useful for storage. Colours may vary. Five stacking peace baskets: Sizes range from 4cm to 22cm tall
