The ruins of Coventry Cathedral destroyed in World War II were incorporated into the new Cathedral. Consecrated on 25 May 1962 in the presence of HM The Queen, the new Cathedral contains a large collection of contemporary stained glass. Most of the windows were designed and made by the leading British artists and craftsman of the day including John Piper and Patrick Reyntiens.
