Description of the image

Persecution and discrimination faced by Christians in Pakistan continue to worsen. In the the most recent edition of ACN Persecuted and Forgotten report, mentions of mob attacks with arson and lynching reports, blasphemy acquisitions, and the dangers faced by Christian women highlight the dangers our Christian brothers and sisters face.

  • At least 20 Christians are currently imprisoned under blasphemy charges, collectively serving over 134 years.
  • In 2023 and 2024, churches and Christian homes were destroyed in mob violence in areas such as Punjab and the Jaranwala incident in 2023 which saw over 20 churches and dozens of Christian homes burned down.
  • In January 2023, UN experts express alarm at reported rise in abduction and forced marriage and conversion of underage girls and young women.
  • The first quarter of 2025 has seen a dramatic escalation in persecution against Christians including forced conversions; sexual violence and murders of Christians and other minorities.
