ACN Advocacy FB campaign 2024

Sign our ACN Open Letter, and urge the Government to make persecuted Christians and other religious minorities a priority for UK aid.

HELP THEM TODAY, SIGN OUR OPEN LETTER

Millions are persecuted for their peacefully held religious beliefs and urgently need the UK’s help.

In May 2022, the UK’s 10-year international aid strategy overlooked religious minorities. Meanwhile, these communities suffer horrific violations like sexual violence, forced marriage, abduction, displacement, and torture.

Ahead of this year’s #RedWednesday initiative, to raise awareness about persecuted Christians around the world we’re asking you to sign our open letter to Foreign Secretary David Lammy. Together, we can make a difference.

At age 4, Iqbal was forced into bonded labour in a carpet factory to repay his family’s debt. Working 14-hour days in brutal conditions stunted his growth. Despite escaping and becoming an advocate against slavery, Iqbal was killed in 1995 for speaking out.

He’s not alone. In Pakistan, over 1 million people endure bonded labour, with Christians making up 80% of workers in some areas.

Your action today CAN make a difference

Sign our open letter and call on the UK Government to ensure Overseas Development Aid is deployed to Christians and religious minorities trapped in modern slavery and other dire situations.
