Make Room with ACN this Advent
Introduction Video
This Advent season, we are inviting pupils across the UK to ‘Make Room’ for Jesus as they prepare for Christmas. This interactive resource invites young people to consider how they might let go of the things that prevent them from knowing God, and to ‘make room’ for God in prayer and acts of charity by joining with ACN to help people in desperate need.
There is a prayer for every day of Advent and a variety of sessions which may be used in youth groups, assemblies or lessons. The accompanying materials encourage an encounter with God when we see the face of others, and the group activity will enable participants to see just how people are being helped by ACN through our amazing projects in Syria, Lebanon and Ukraine. This resource includes a Christmas decoration-making activity which will remind participants of those their fundraising will help, as well as a beautiful prayer reflection from Sr Rose Rolling OP. During the final liturgy, the young people can ‘offer’ their contributions, symbolised by their Christmas decorations.
You can do as much or as little of this activity as you wish. All donations will support ACN projects helping children, the sick (physically or mentally) and the elderly suffering in Ukraine, Lebanon and Syria as well as funds for food and transportation for those who care for refugees.
