Carfin Youth Rally
ACN in Scotland

ACN Scotland invites Catholic High Schools from all over Scotland to stand in solidarity with persecuted Chritians worldwide, by joining our 2017 rally. Last year more than 1,000 students attended. Will YOU get your school involved this year?

The theme of the day is We Are One as we stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Christ who are persecuted for their faith.  The day will include prayer, talks and action to awaken our consciences.

Each school will be asked to bring along two prayers with them on the day, one for Iraq and one for Syria. Leading the day of prayer will be Bishop John Keenan of the Diocese of Paisley.

Bishop John has sent out a personal invitation to all secondary schools in Scotland. In his invitation he said: “The violence and oppression experienced by Christians in our world continues to this day.

“The situation in Syria has been one of devastation and, with Aleppo city centre now under the control of the Assad Government, it is possible to start counting the cost of war. “The city’s Christian community has fallen from 250,000 before war to 30,000 today.

“It is our duty to support persecuted Christians and, by attending ACN’s Annual Youth Rally, we can make a real show of solidarity.”

Bishop John will be joined be inspirational speaker and former comedian Fr Frankie Mulgrew.

Also in attendance will be Electropop Christian music group Ooberfuse, who will give their own personal testimonies and perform on the day.
